About Me

About me...

My name is Kassidy Riekens, and I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Certified nutrition Coach, & Certified Weight loss specialist. I am twenty-nine years old , a wife, and a mother of three beautiful little girls, Harley, Blake, & Billie. My love for healthy living started in May 2015 after my first daughter was born. I lost -130 pounds in the first year and half. after my second weight loss journey, i lost -80 pounds, and now i am on my third weight loss journey! Here is how it all began...

When I was in high school, I weighed 107 pounds and I am 5'6. I was extremely skinny and borderline anorexic. Eating wasn't a priority but staying skinny WAS. I worked out excessively and ate scarcely. That was my 16-year-old-way of looking good, whether it was healthy or not. As we all know, life changes after high school. You go on new journeys, you meet new people, and your whole demeanor on life becomes different. I quit working out, I started drinking heavily, working at a restaurant, and became carefree about my appearance. By the age of 21, I had gained almost 100 pounds. I was embarrassed of my body, how I looked, and even who I had become. I was negative, pessimistic, and miserable in every aspect of my life. I found out I was pregnant with my daughter in August, 2014. Throughout my pregnancy, I continued my unhealthy eating patterns and never exercised. Not only did I have pregnancy cravings, but I was used to eating junk day in and day out. On the day I delivered my daughter, I weighed 260 pounds. I remember how I felt that day. I was physically so large, I could barely move. Not only from the pregnancy, but from how much weight I had gained from the excessive eating. I told myself that day that I would change. I would lose all of the weight, plus more, and I would become the best me I could be. And that is exactly what I did. Two weeks after Harley was born, I started meal prepping. I didn't know what I was doing or where to begin, but I tried. 6 weeks later, I started working out. I had no proper work out program or much help, but I tried. I got a gym membership, researched work outs, asked for help, and did the best that I could. The weight started falling off which motivated me and kept me focused. There was only one problem. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). RA is an auto-immune deficiency that causes chronic inflammation , affecting many joints throughout the body. I dealt with this severe and mysterious pain for 5 years before I was even diagnosed in 2016. There were days where I physically couldn't get out of bed, walk, or even lift up my own baby. Excruciating pain is an understatement. I would be so discouraged some days. I would loath in self pity, cry, and go through weeks of depression. I was 25 years old living in a 90 year old body. My body was literally fighting against me, but I still tried. I would go to the gym and do an exercise and if that was too painful, I would move on to a different one. I did that every day until either the pain resided or I found something my body would allow. The odds were all against me,  but i persevered. In 2017, I got pregnant with my second daughter. During this pregnancy, i went from 150 pounds to 220 pounds with a total weight gain of 70 pounds. I am currently almost 6 months postpartum and have lost 50+ pounds.

A year and a half after I started my weight loss journey, I received a message from Daily Mail UK. They asked if they could write about my story in an online article. Of course, I said yes, not knowing how  many people my story would reach. After my story went live in the UK, I received another message from People Magazine, asking to share my story on their website too! Throughout the next few months, there were articles written about my weight loss story from Daily Mail, People, Cosmo, Self, Delish, Yahoo, and more. My story reached all over the world, including Facebook, Instagram, News Articles, and magazines.  I was motivating people, sharing my lifestyle, and doing my best to be an inspiration to someone in someway. I decided to use my love for fitness as a career and I became a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach.

My goal as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach is to help all of my clients strive to be the best version of themselves. One of the main goals in fitness is to get/maintain a healthy and toned physique, which I would love to assist with, but there is so much more to it than just appearance. Starting a healthy life style is intimidating, scary, and difficult. It takes self discipline, motivation, patience, and a strong mentality. I want to encourage my clients when they feel discouraged. I want to educate them on the right way to live healthy. I want to push them when they think they can't, because I believe they can. I want to teach my clients that this is a lifestyle, not a diet. I want them to know that even on their hardest days, they have someone to help them every step of their journey. If I can do it, so can you! And remember, you don't get the a$$ you want by sitting on it! So get up, and start today!
